Meraner Rosengarten DOC 2023

  The Merano Winery's “Meraner Rosengarten” comes from terraced south-facing slopes around Lagundo and Plars, where the vines thrive on stony, well-aerated soils and the sun at alpine altitudes promotes intense ripening. It is vinified from the indigenous Vernatsch grape variety - traditionally, but with a modern touch: after careful harvesting, the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks, and a short stay in oak barrels gently complements the explosion of fruit and emphasizes its origin and style.

In the glass, it glows with a clear ruby red color and a sparkling sheen, while the nose reveals aromas of ripe raspberries, juicy blackberries, and a subtle note of bread crust—an expression of its youthful freshness and authentic origin. On the palate, this fruitiness combines with a balanced structure and pleasantly soft tannins; the fine astringency on the finish underscores vitality and tension without losing harmony.
