© www.nalsmargreid.com The “Kalk” Chardonnay from the Nals-Margreid winery has its roots in the calcareous gravel soils just above Margreid in the Etschtal valley—a location with deep humus and mineral structure and a southeastern slope orientation. The hand-picked Chardonnay grapes are fermented at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and then remain on the fine lees for around five months, combining freshness with a delicate creaminess.
In the glass, this white wine displays a light straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose is dominated by exotic notes such as pineapple and passion fruit, complemented by hints of fresh sage and citrus.
