Pelissero's Langhe Nebbiolo presents itself in the glass with a clear ruby red colour and violet reflections, which already give a visual hint of its youthful freshness and structure. The nose reveals an inviting, fruity bouquet of red berries such as strawberries, raspberries and cherries, accompanied by delicate floral notes typical of Nebbiolo and a subtle spiciness that adds depth to the wine. On the palate, this red wine is harmonious and elegant, with well-integrated, classic Nebbiolo tannins and a lively acidity that makes it fresh and balanced. The fruity aromas combine with a subtle, woody component and a stimulating persistence that rounds off the impression of an accessible yet characterful wine.
What makes this Langhe Nebbiolo special is its location and origin: Pelissero presses it from 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the municipalities of Treiso, Neive and Barbaresco in the Langhe, in the heart of one of Italy's most important Nebbiolo regions. Although the grapes come from younger plots and are not formally classified as Barbaresco, they still reflect the characteristic qualities of this renowned wine region. The south- to west-facing vineyards and the Pelissero family's traditional viticultural culture give the wine a remarkable balance between fruit, fine tannins and the typical Nebbiolo character, expressing both the history and identity of the Piedmontese terroir. - Gerardo [TS10/24]
