Pelissero's Barbaresco Tulin presents itself in the glass with a lively ruby red colour that reflects its youthful vigour and refined elegance. The nose reveals an expressive, classic Nebbiolo bouquet of red berries, particularly cherry and raspberry, interwoven with floral nuances and spicy accents and highlighted by a precise minerality. On the palate, the wine reveals a fascinating balance of concentrated fruit, finely woven tannins and lively acidity, which give it tension and structure. The finish is long and elegant, carried by a subtle spiciness and a subtle, supportive wood note, which comes from around 20 months of ageing in barriques and tonneaux and gives the Barbaresco depth and harmony.
What makes this Barbaresco particularly special is its origin in the famous single vineyard Tulin, located directly below the winery near Treiso. Facing south and southwest, it is characterised by calcareous marl with inclusions of blue clay — a terroir that promotes structure, precision and clarity. The name Tulin stands not only for a geographical origin, but also for the deep-rooted winegrowing tradition of the Pelissero family, who cultivate old vines here and create a modern, deliberately contoured interpretation of a classic Barbaresco. This combination of historic location, careful vineyard work and classic Nebbiolo vinification results in a Barbaresco that impressively expresses both the tradition of the region and the contemporary style of the house. - Gerardo [TS10/22]
