The Pfannenstielhof's Lagrein “Vom Boden” is a tribute to the valuable soils on which this grape variety thrives. The terroir, characterized by deep, warm sand and gravel soils that have been washed up by the Eisack over centuries, gives this Lagrein its special elegance and finesse. In the glass, the wine is fruity, rich and powerful, yet at the same time has a fine structure and density. The soft, velvety tannins underline the full-bodied and supple character that unfolds harmoniously on the palate.

The Pfannenstielhof, first mentioned in a document in 1561 and owned by the Pfeifer family for over 200 years, stands for a long tradition and outstanding wine quality. The Lagrein “Vom Boden” is a worthy expression of these many years of experience and the close connection with the terroir, which unmistakably shapes the wine and significantly influences its velvety-soft character. - Gerardo [TS10/26]

"However, it is now not only St. Magdalener that Pfeifer produces. On the gently sloping southern slopes around the farm, he has also increasingly grown Lagrein. On the warm, sandy alluvial soils, this variety finds ideal growing conditions. The basic Lagrein is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then aged for six to eight months in medium-sized wooden barrels. It is dark ruby red in color and captivates with immense fruitiness, without the bitter notes otherwise so often found in Lagrein." - Dr. Jens Priewe
"Clear bright cherry red with ruby reflections and bright red rim. Fruit-driven, open-hearted after blueberries, plums and blackberry jam, besides slightly spicy after tea leaves. Stretches animatedly on the palate with velvety tannin and gentle pressure, medium weight, juicy acidity and coherent finish." - Falstaff

The Lagrein “Vom Boden” from the Pfannenstielhof estate is an eloquent statement of terroir and origin: vinified exclusively from the indigenous Lagrein grape variety, the wine comes from sandy and gravelly alluvial soils characteristic of the Eisack floodplains. The vines are deeply rooted in warm, stored soils, giving this wine its velvety structure and profound character. After careful maceration and maturation in large wooden barrels, the result is a wine that not only perfectly expresses the Lagrein variety, but also reflects the signature style of the Pfeifer family and their natural viticulture.

In the glass, this wine appears in a deep ruby red with dark reflections — a visual indication of depth and concentration. The nose is dominated by dark berries such as black cherry and blackberry, flanked by a hint of violet and elegantly applied spice. On the palate, “Vom Boden” reveals supple tannins, fine fruit, and a soft structure that combines power and elegance - perfect as an accompaniment to grilled meat, game, or mature cheese. A wine that makes its origin tangible and inspires with its authenticity. - Gerardo [TS10/26]
