Of straw yellow color and subtle greenish reflections in the glass. The bouquet is fruity, intense and delicate. The palate is dry, harmonious and spicy. The grapes for Salento Chardonnay come from vineyards around the village of San Donaci. - Gerardo [TS02/24]
Gerardo's Notes: Puglia is also an excellent growing area for white grape varieties, including the world-famous Chardonnay grape. The sunny climate produces a mild, creamy white wine with little bitterness and restrained acidity. Due to the higher concentration - caused by the climate - of fructose in the grapes, the wines also have a somewhat higher alcohol content.
