  The “St. Daniel” Blauburgunder Riserva from the Schreckbichl Winery is an elegant Pinot Noir that embodies the alpine freshness of South Tyrol. The grapes come from the best vineyards around the historic wine village of Girlan, where the 15-20-year-old vines thrive on volcanic soils with moraine overlay. After a short cold maceration, fermentation takes place, followed by twelve months of aging, two-thirds in large wooden barrels and one-third in barriques. This method gives the wine its fine structure and complexity.

In the glass, the “St. Daniel” presents itself in a medium-deep garnet red. The bouquet unfolds aromas of ripe cherries, red berries, and spices, which are typical of the grape variety. On the palate, the wine is soft and balanced with a medium-bodied structure and a fine finish. This Pinot Noir Riserva is a versatile accompaniment to light starters, veal or poultry, and hearty fish dishes.
