Miraglio · Brindisi Negroamaro DOC 2020

  Tenute Rubino's Miraglio Brindisi Negroamaro is an authentic reflection of the Salento terroir in Apulia: 100% Negroamaro from the vineyards of Contrada Miraglio near Brindisi, cultivated on sandy and clayey soils about 80 meters above sea level. The grapes are harvested by hand in the second ten days of September and the subsequent processing involves a controlled maceration period of around twelve days in stainless steel tanks, followed by five months of aging in large French oak barrels and finally a short period of bottle aging.

In the glass, Miraglio displays a deep, bright ruby red color with violet reflections—visually promising intense fruit. The nose is characterized by an inviting complexity: juicy ripe cherries, dark plums, and blackberries, accompanied by subtle notes of black peppercorns, licorice, and tobacco, as well as a hint of Mediterranean herbs such as thyme and rosemary. On the palate, this fruit intensity combines with a warm, elegant structure, supple tannins, and a lingering finish. With its distinctive terroir character and good balance, this wine is ideal with grilled meats, spicy ragùs, or aged hard cheeses—a harmonious delight from Apulia. - Gerardo [TS10/21]
