The Rafaèl Valpolicella Classico Superiore is a true classic from the Tommasi estate, hailing from the historic vineyard of the same name on Monte Masua, considered one of the region's finest sites. In the glass, it shines a brilliant ruby red. Its bouquet is wonderfully fine and complex: it offers intense scents of dried rose petals, ripe cherries, and a subtle peppery spice that is so typical of the traditional Valpolicella grape varieties.
On the palate, the Rafaèl presents itself as elegant and harmonious, far removed from the lush sweetness of a Ripasso. It captivates with juicy freshness, fine-grained tannins, and a well-integrated structure owed to 15 months of aging in large Slavonian oak barrels. A finesse-rich wine with a long finish that pairs excellently with pasta with meat sauces, roasted poultry, or medium-aged cheeses. - Gerardo [TS10/23]
