This Amarone della Valpolicella impresses with its deep ruby red color and delicate violet reflections, highlighting its intensity and maturity. On the nose, it reveals great finesse and complexity: intense aromas of juicy sour cherries, ripe plums, nuts, coffee grounds, and licorice blend into a multi-layered and inviting bouquet.

On the palate, the Amarone is full-bodied, velvety, and rich, with a dry, very persistent finish that embodies elegance and pure pleasure. This exceptional wine pairs perfectly with game, red meat, or mature cheese, and is also an ideal companion for long, enjoyable conversations in good company. - Gerardo [TS10/21]

"Dark ruby with purple reflections. Inviting on the nose with aromas of preserved blackberries, violets, black pepper and tobacco. Full-bodied on the palate, with a beautiful interplay between sweet fruit and firm tannins and a powerful tannin finish." - Falstaff

The Amarone della Valpolicella from the traditional Tommasi winery in the heart of the classic Valpolicella region impressively embodies the fine art of the appassimento process. Its origin in the renowned crus “La Groletta” and “Conca d'Oro” alone underscores the terroir potential of this wine. The grapes (Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and a small proportion of Oseleta) are carefully harvested and then traditionally dried to concentrate their aromas. This is followed by a maturation phase in large Slavonian oak barrels, which give the wine depth and finesse.

In the glass, it displays a dense ruby red color with violet reflections—a visual indication of its intense fruit and elegant style. The nose reveals ripe black cherry, plum, dark forest berries, and noble spice and mocha notes, which testify to the long drying process and oak aging. On the palate, this Amarone combines opulent fullness with a clear structure: velvety tannins carry the complex fruit, while subtly integrated spice and a concise length underline the terroir that is evident here. A wine that pairs perfectly with game dishes, hearty stews, or aged cheese—and at the same time is suitable as a contemplative wine for conscious enjoyment. - Gerardo [TS10/21]
