Alois Lageder | Südtirol
For more than 170 years, the Alois Lageder winery has stood for natural quality viticulture in South Tyrol. As early as the 1990s, Alois Lageder introduced biodynamic practices in the cultivation as well as the vinification of his wines, at that time still a novelty in Italy's northernmost region. Biodynamic agriculture is a modern form of farming based on the teachings of anthroposophy. The biodynamic method emphasizes the use of natural plant materials and the consideration of lunar cycles and zodiac signs in the cultivation of the vineyards.
The Alois Lageder winery places great emphasis on sustainable agriculture and does not use chemical pesticides or herbicides. Instead, they rely on organic methods to control pests and improve the soil. This leads to a higher diversity of soil organisms and better soils, which help the winegrowers produce high-quality wines.
Alois Lageder produces a wide range of wines known for their high quality, purity and characteristic taste. The wines are made from grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, among others. The wines are produced in a sustainable way and have received an excellent rating in various wine reviews.
In fact, Alois Lageder is a pioneer in biodynamic agriculture and has helped this method become more widespread. Through his commitment to sustainability and biodynamic practices, he has shown that it is possible to produce high-quality wines in harmony with nature. - Gerardo [TS02/23]

Löwengang · Chardonnay DOC 2020 (Bio)Alois Lageder, South Tyrol
Löwengang Chardonnay has not only shaped the success story of Alois Lageder, but also established the quality status of the wine country of South Tyrol. It was the first white wine in the country to successfully position itself on international markets in the 1980s. The winery's vineyards, which are located in various sites in Margreid, react differently to the climatic conditions each year. Our task is to respond to the different grapes and wines, combining them every year to create a new masterpiece.
