Fragment · Sauvignon DOC 2023 (Bio)

  The “Fragment” Sauvignon from Alois Lageder in South Tyrol is an expression of maximum biodiversity and terroir subtlety: the grapes come from hillside vineyards between 230 and 830 meters above sea level, which are characterized by limestone and volcanic soils—conditions that give the wine a noticeable tension. Great care is taken in the cellar: some of the grapes are pressed immediately, while others remain on the skins for a short time, and the wine is aged in stainless steel and large wooden barrels, which gives it both freshness and depth.

In the glass, Fragment Sauvignon is a light straw yellow with subtle greenish reflections — a visual promise of clarity and authenticity. The nose reveals notes of lemon balm, white pear, and grapefruit, accompanied by hints of alpine herbs and a subtle salty-mineral trace that makes the soil palpable. On the palate, the wine reveals a precise structure, juicy fruit, and a lively texture — yet it remains elegant and restrained rather than loud, making it an ideal stylish accompaniment to fish, vegetable, or light poultry dishes — or simply for a moment of enjoyment on its own. - Gerardo [TS10/24]
