  Camigliano's Paesaggio Inatteso Brunello di Montalcino is an impressive selection that illustrates how profound and complex Sangiovese Grosso can be in harsh but balanced locations. It comes exclusively from a single plot of about 2 hectares (“La Magia”), whose soils are mineral and calcareous. The vines are planted at a density of around 5,000 vines per hectare, mainly using the cordone speronato training system. Vinification and aging are carried out to a high standard: gentle pressing, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks with delestage and regular pumping over, followed by maceration for around 30 days. The wine is aged for 30 months in oak barrels (Slavonian and French oak between 20 and 25 hl) and undergoes further bottle aging before release.

On the nose, Paesaggio Inatteso reveals a sophistication of ripe red fruits such as cherry and plum, flanked by spicy notes, vanilla, and balsamic herbs. Depending on the vintage, floral elements such as rose or violet and mineral accents also come to the fore. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet elegant, with a lively acidity, firm tannins, and a long, lingering finish.
