Jalé · Chardonnay Sicilia DOC 2023

  Cusumano's Jalé Chardonnay Sicilia is a white wine ambassador for Sicily that delights with its powerful clarity and subtle depth. Grown on the Tenuta Ficuzza estate near Piana degli Albanesi at an altitude of around 700 meters, Chardonnay grapes thrive here on clayey and calcareous soils, which develop an outstanding structure due to large day-night fluctuations. In the cellar, a short cold maceration is carried out, followed by fermentation and subsequent aging in 225-liter oak barrels—an approach that preserves the varietal fruit character while adding an elegant wood note.

In the glass, Jalé displays a straw-yellow color with golden reflections—a visual indication of its origin and sophistication. The nose reveals aromas of yellow peach, pineapple, and candied citrus, accompanied by vanilla, butter, and toasted notes from barrel aging. On the palate, rich texture combines with lively freshness, clear lines with intense fruit, and a long finish with fine minerality rounds off the profile.
