The Alta Mora Guardiola Etna Rosso comes from one of the most spectacular locations on Mount Etna: La Guardiola. Here, at an altitude of up to 1,000 meters, the up to 150-year-old, ungrafted vines are rooted on terraces supported by dry stone walls, surrounded by pristine scrubland and black volcanic soil. This extreme altitude and the unique microclimate give the wine its unmistakable character. The Guardiola is a dense garnet red in the glass. The nose delights with intense aromas of ripe wild berries, complemented by notes of sandalwood, tobacco and a fine, mineral smokiness.

On the palate, the wine impresses with Burgundian finesse and a balanced combination of ripe fruit, silky texture and mineral depth. The tannins are fine-grained, the acidity lively - together they create a complex, elegant structure that unfolds in a long, multi-faceted finish. The Etna Rosso Guardiola is a truly exceptional wine that impressively combines the wild beauty and ancient knowledge of the Guardiola vineyard. A great, sublime cru from Etna that sets standards. - Gerardo [TS10/17]

"Bright, brightening ruby with light rim. Opens with spicy notes, of white pepper and allspice, then cherry and red currant. Grippy, grippy tannin, saline, showing plenty of present fruit on the back end, finishing with firm pressure." - Falstaff
"Vibrant ruby garnet. Spicy and fruity aromas on the nose, complex and elegant, with light hints of blackcurrant, cardamom, underbrush, wild strawberry and blood orange. Delicate and lively on the palate, youthful but promising and already velvety tannins, extracted body, powerful, elegant, aristocratic and of excellent length. Great wine." - Daniele Cernilli (Doctor Wine)

Cusumano's Alta Mora Guardiola Etna Rosso is an outstanding cuvée from the prestigious Guardiola single vineyard on the northern slope of Mount Etna: the vines are terraced at altitudes between 800 and 1000 meters on volcanic rock, lava, and basalt, benefiting from the cool wind, large day-night temperature fluctuations, and stony soil structure. These conditions allow for slow ripening with a high degree of terroir expression; In the cellar, gentle fermentation and maturation in large wooden barrels give the wine structure and depth without masking the elegance typical of the variety.

In the glass, the wine displays a lively ruby color with a garnet red rim—a visual indication of its mineral origin and sophisticated style. The nose reveals aromas of ripe wild and sour cherries and dark berries, accompanied by delicate herbal and spicy notes such as thyme, allspice, and licorice, as well as a fine smoky-stony minerality that impressively reflects the volcanic terroir. On the palate, the wine presents itself with a fine texture, elegant tannins, and a clear acidity structure, combined with a noticeable length and mineral tension—a great red wine that combines origin and class and is excellent with game, mature cheese, or aged cuisine. - Gerardo [TS10/17]
