  Donnafugata's Chiarandà wine is a Chardonnay with a Mediterranean soul, rooted in the hills of Contessa Entellina in southwestern Sicily. The vines thrive on limestone and clay-rich soils with noticeable day-night temperature fluctuations, giving them a distinctive freshness and fine minerality. The wine is first aged on the fine lees for several months, then partly in new barriques or small wooden barrels - this approach gives the wine depth and elegance without masking its varietal character.

In the glass, Chiarandà presents itself in a light straw yellow with golden reflections and unfolds a complex bouquet of citrus fruits, yellow fruits such as apple and pear, complemented by floral and herbal nuances as well as hints of roasted hazelnut and vanilla - the result of careful maturation. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and structured, with a lively texture, elegant minerality, and a long finish: a white wine with good aging potential that can be enjoyed on its own or served stylishly with fine fish or white meat dishes. - Gerardo [TS10/19]
