The Vigna di Gabri is an elegant and multi-layered white wine that bears Donnafugata's special signature. It is based on Sicilian Ansonica, supplemented by finely balanced proportions of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, which give the cuvée additional freshness and aromatic complexity. A small proportion of the wine is aged in French oak barrels, which brings subtle notes of vanilla and a fine texture to the wine. The nose presents a seductive bouquet with aromas of yellow peach, acacia blossom, white flowers and a hint of citrus freshness reminiscent of sunny Mediterranean days.

On the palate, the Vigna di Gabri has a balanced structure in which fruit, spice and minerality intertwine harmoniously. The salty nuances and lingering, delicately spicy finish clearly reflect its maritime origins and the mineral-rich soils of Sicily. This wine elegantly combines sophistication and character and is an excellent accompaniment to grilled fish, scallops, prawns or Mediterranean pasta dishes. An expressive white wine for special moments of pleasure. - Gerardo [TS10/14]

"Strong also the whites, including the floral, hearty fresh Ansonica Vigna di Gabri." - Gambero Rosso
"Brilliantly bright lemon yellow with gold reflections. Initially restrained on the nose, somewhat washed out aromas of golden apple, toasted pine nuts, black pepper on the nose. Pleasant palate entry, stretches broadly across the tongue, with juicy melt, grippy structure and compelling length." - Falstaff

The Vigna di Gabri white wine from Donnafugata is an expression of Sicilian elegance with a personal name reference: it bears the name of Gabriella Anca Rallo, co-founder of the winery, who used this cuvée to express her appreciation for the Ansonica variety and the terroir of Contessa Entellina. The blend combines Ansonica, Lucido or Catarratto, Viognier, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, among others. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 200-300 meters on clay soils with a sub-alkaline reaction and a limestone-rich subsoil—conditions that ensure clarity, balance, and depth of origin.

In the glass, Vigna di Gabri displays a bright straw yellow color with delicate greenish reflections—an indication of freshness and finesse. The nose reveals complex aromas: green apple notes and yellow peaches give way to elderflower, Mediterranean herbs such as sage and thyme, and a subtle minerality that makes the terroir palpable. On the palate, this white wine presents itself with a lively flow, a pleasant spiciness, and a salty-mineral finish that elegantly underscores its structure. It pairs impressively with fish and seafood dishes, baked vegetable casseroles, or delicate poultry creations—a style icon for sensitive, modern white wine enjoyment. - Gerardo [TS10/14]
