The Calle Merlot has a deep ruby red color and seduces with its velvety character and intense aromas of ripe red fruit. The bouquet is complemented by fine nuances of leather, truffles and a hint of liquorice, which give the wine additional depth. On the palate, it presents itself with a full body, rich structure and a harmonious balance between strength and softness. The tannins are round and well integrated, giving the wine elegance and length.
Calle originated in the 1990s, when the Fasoli brothers planted the first vines for this project from the root cuttings of the Orgno vineyard - a place where they experimented with the principles of organic and later biodynamic cultivation. Named after the quiet village of Calle on the border with Illasi, this Merlot embodies not only a love of terroir, but also the philosophy of sustainable winemaking.
