Chianti Classico DOCG 2021 (Bio)

  Fontodi Chianti Classico embodies the traditional elegance of the Tuscan winery Fontodi and the characteristic expression of the Sangiovese variety in its purest form. The grapes come from different locations in the heart of Chianti Classico, on Galestro and Alberese soils characterized by slate, limestone, and clay—soil and climate influences that give the wine its profound minerality and lively structure. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts and then matured in French oak; this process creates a harmonious combination of fruit, terroir, and fine wood spice.

In the glass, Fontodi's Chianti Classico displays a bright ruby red color with violet reflections. The bouquet opens with intense aromas of ripe sour cherries, wild berries, and violets, overlaid with hints of macchia herbs and light tobacco spice—an olfactory portrait of the Tuscan landscape. On the palate, the wine delights with a delicate structure, powerful yet elegant, supported by soft, well-integrated tannins and a lingering, spicy finish.
