This St. Magdalener, which bears the seal of quality (also known as the protection mark), takes its name from the St. Maddalena hill in the north of Bolzano. Vernatsch and Lagrein grow side by side in a mixed vineyard there. The two grapes are traditionally harvested and fermented together, resulting in an outstanding St. Magdalener Classico:
Bright ruby color. Floral aroma of light red cherries with hints of violets and almonds. Velvety soft on the palate. Ideal with a good marende. - Gerardo [TS12/22]
