  The red wine TAL 1908 Cuvée Rosso from the Bolzano Winery pays homage to its vintage and origin: the name refers to the founding year of the former Gries Winery in 1908, thus honoring the tradition and commitment to producing outstanding quality. The grapes come from the best selected vineyards in Gries and Moritzing, on alluvial soils over volcanic porphyry subsoil, which gives the terroir a distinctive mineral depth. The cuvée, consisting mainly of Lagrein as well as Cabernet and Merlot, was vinified with great care: first it matured in small French barriques, then in concrete vats — a blend of technology and tradition that combines power and finesse.

In the glass, the TAL 1908 displays a deep garnet red with purple reflections, which already visually hints at how complex this wine aims to be. The nose reveals a symphony of ripe forest and berry fruits—raspberry, currant, blackberry—accompanied by subtle spice notes such as pepper and clove, as well as hints of cocoa, graphite, and licorice, which lend the wine character and depth. On the palate, it is harmonious and elegant: a soft structure, supported by mineral freshness and restrained acidity, leads to a finish of discreet opulence.
