© www.tunella.it La Tunella's Biancosesto is a distinctive cuvée made from two indigenous Friuli grape varieties - Friulano and Ribolla Gialla. This 50:50 blend is grown in the hills of Colli Orientali del Friuli, a region known for its “Ponca” soils - calcareous marl and sandstone layers that give the wines minerality and structure. The grapes come from old vineyards around the historic town of Sesto al Reghena, which gives the wine additional depth and authenticity.
Biancosesto is vinified through gentle maceration at low temperatures and eight months of aging on the fine lees in large Slavonian oak tonneaux. The result is an elegant wine with a straw-yellow color and greenish reflections. Its bouquet combines aromas of vanilla, acacia blossoms, and fine pastries with fresh notes of fruit and white flowers. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet lively and mineral, with a long finish that reflects the typical characteristics of both grape varieties. - Gerardo [TS10/24]
