The Rosso Veronese Gemei spans the arc between Italy and the rest of the world: The proportion of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon provide for international cut, while Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella contribute the Venetian character. The fine nose announces red and black berries while the impression on the palate is pleasantly fruity and finishes with mildness. - Gerardo [TS02/22]
Gerardo's Notes: Particularly interesting in the Gemei is the use of local grape varieties such as Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella. In addition, this Veronese red wine has been partially aged in large oak barrels as well as used barrique barrels, which gives it a subtle wood character. Gemei is always of good density and persistent reverberation, the wine goes well with delicate appetizers or spicy meat dishes.
