Brindisi Anticaia is made from mainly Negroamaro grapes with some Malvasia Nera to complement. In the aroma of ripe red fruits, such as cherries under alcohol. The impression is complemented by spicy notes, black pepper and hints of bitter chocolate. - Gerardo [TS02/16]

  Gerardo's Notes: Named after the growing area around Brindisi, this wine is 90% Negroamaro with 10% Malvasia Nera grapes as a complement. Naturally strong and expressive on the palate, Cantina San Donaci wines have comparatively background and mild tannins. The Brindisi DOC/DOP appellation has existed since 1979 and requires a minimum of 70% Negroamaro grapes in its wines.

Typical of all 'Anticaia' wines is the traditional, Apulian style: fruit-driven with hints of cooked plums and jam.
