Salice Salentino Rosato of strong, coral color in the glass. The bouquet is fruity and pronounced, with hints of raspberries, wild berries and rose petals. The palate is dry, yet soft and delicate, with a pleasant freshness and minerality. - Gerardo [TS02/24]
Gerardo's Notes: Salice Salentino is one of Italy's great classics and has had DOC/DOP status since 1976. The red wines that go with it come from the provinces of Lecce and Brindisi, and the regulations stipulate a proportion of 75% Negroamaro grapes, with a maximum addition of 25% of other red grape varieties (mostly Malvasia Nera). A rose version is also popular with only a short maceration on the skins.
