Tignanello is an icon of modern Italian viticulture and represents a real turning point in the history of Tuscan wine culture. As the first Sangiovese to be matured in barriques and one of the first Chianti Classico wines to dispense with the traditional use of white grapes, it set new standards. Tignanello combines the Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grape varieties to create a unique cuvée that masterfully reflects the terroir of Tuscany.

On the nose, the Tignanello reveals a complex range of aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherries and raspberries, paired with nuances of Mediterranean herbs, sweet tobacco, spices and a hint of cedar wood. On the palate, it shows impressive depth and elegance, with fine, well-integrated tannins and a lively acidity that lends freshness and structure. The ripe fruit, which gains additional richness from the Cabernet varieties, combines harmoniously with subtle wood notes and a long, spicy finish.

Tignanello is not only a wine of great elegance and complexity, but also a symbol of innovation and tradition in Tuscan viticulture - a milestone that has delighted generations of wine lovers. - Gerardo [TS10/20]

The “Tignanello” Rosso Toscana from Marchesi Antinori's Tenuta Tignanello estate is a milestone in modern Tuscan winemaking. It combines the traditional indigenous Sangiovese variety with the international Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grape varieties to create an outstanding cuvée. The grapes come from the vineyard of the same name, whose southwestern exposure and limestone and slate soils offer ideal conditions for concentrated and expressive ripeness. The highest standards are applied in production: selection in the vineyard, controlled fermentation, and aging in small French and Hungarian oak barriques ensure structure and depth without masking the liveliness of the fruit.

In the glass, Tignanello displays an intense ruby red color with violet reflections, revealing a complex bouquet of ripe cherries, Amarena cherries, and pomegranate seeds, underpinned by elegant hints of violets, balsamic nuances, and a touch of vanilla and cedar wood. On the palate, the wine impresses with velvety tannins, a distinctive structure, and a harmonious balance between density and freshness — a long, impressive finish rounds off the experience. This wine combines heritage, innovation, and craftsmanship—a full expression of Antinori's vision and a companion for special moments. - Gerardo [TS10/20]
