Dule · Cannonau di Sardegna Classico DOC 2014

Gabbas, Sardegna [not in stock]
´Dule´ · Cannonau di Sardegna Classico DOC 2014, Gabbas, Sardegna

Giuseppe Gabbas Dule is mainly pressed from Cannonau. Intense ruby red in color with scattered garnet highlights. Remarkable aroma of berry fruit, underpinned by pleasant spicy notes. On the palate of great structure, fruity body and pleasant tannins. Optimal expression of its local terroir. - Gerardo [TS06/15]

"This fabulous Cannonau Riserva rolls out a spotless carpet of scents before us, with juniper, currants and cherries woven into the pattern; on the palate, the dominant acidity keeps the cashew-like flavor well in check." - Gambero Rosso

'In its elegance and finesse, it is for us the incarnation of this vine par excellence." - Gambero Rosso

"Brilliant ruby red color. The aromas on the nose are elegant with notes of orange peel, spices and sour cherries. The synthesis between concentration, balance and freshness is achieved on the palate. The tannins are ripe and supple, a tonic and extended progression, the finish is long and juicy." - Daniele Cernilli (Doctor Wine)

Gerardo's Notes: Dule is made from carefully selected Cannonau grapes whose vines in the eponymous vineyard Dule have a minimum age of 40 years. A small number of buds per vine allows a low but high quality grape yield. In August, the so-called green pruning is carried out to achieve an optimal concentration of aromatic substances and polyhenols, which are important for high quality. After fermentation on the skins for 20 to 25 days, the wine is aged for 12 months in French barriques and then for at least 12 months in bottle at the winemaker's to express its bouquet and terroir in the best possible way.
