Pischl · Lagrein Rosato DOC 2013

  The “Pischl” Lagrein Rosato from the Bolzano Winery is made from the Lagrein grape variety—an indigenous red wine grape from South Tyrol—but in an unexpected rosé interpretation. The grapes come from the Pischlhof farm near Bolzano and are processed using a delicate pressing method and a very short maceration period, resulting in a delicate color and a lively fruit structure. Fermentation in stainless steel keeps the freshness in the foreground and the terroir - the sandy alluvial soils in the Bolzano basin - is subtly noticeable.

In the glass, the Pischl reveals a light ruby pink color that already shows fine violet reflections when the light changes. The nose is filled with aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and cherries, accompanied by floral violet scents and a delicate hint of marzipan. On the palate, the wine unfolds a refined balance between lively fruit and elegant structure - light spice, good fullness, and a fresh finish make it ideal as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to antipasti, vegetarian dishes, or fine carpaccio. - Gerardo [TS10/14]
