Thalmann · Pinot-Nero Riserva DOC 2017

  The “Thalmann” Pinot Nero Riserva from the Bolzano Winery is a red wine that embodies the high artistry of South Tyrolean viticulture. The grapes for this wine come from specially selected vineyards in Ritten and Leitach, at altitudes between 500 and 750 meters above sea level. Here, the vines find ideal conditions: warm, well-ventilated hills with limestone and porphyry soils that give the wine a fine minerality. After selective harvesting in September, the mash is fermented in open wooden barrels, followed by twelve months of aging in French oak barriques. This elaborate production process helps to develop the complex aromas and structure of the wine.

In the glass, the “Thalmann” Pinot Noir Riserva presents itself in an intense ruby red. The bouquet unfolds aromas of ripe wild berries, cherries, and plums, accompanied by spicy notes of cinnamon, black pepper, and cloves. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with velvety tannins and a harmonious structure that gives it remarkable length.
