Selida · Gewürztraminer DOC 2023

  The “Selida” Gewürztraminer from the Tramin Winery is a shining example of the aromatic diversity of this noble grape variety. Its name, derived from the Old German ‘Selida’ for “small farm,” refers to the tradition of small-scale viticulture, which still forms the strength of the winery today. The grapes thrive in the steep, south-facing slopes of the region, where calcareous clay soils and the interplay between hot days and cool nights provide ideal conditions for ripening. After a short maceration period, the grapes are gently pressed, followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks without malolactic fermentation to preserve the freshness and fruitiness of the wine.

In the glass, Selida presents itself in an intense golden yellow with greenish reflections. The bouquet seduces with a wealth of aromas reminiscent of rose petals, lilies, spicy flowers, dried herbs, and ripe exotic fruits such as lychee, mango, and passion fruit. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich in extract, with a finely spiced juiciness that harmoniously unites the aromas.
