  Rivera's Puer Apuliae Nero di Troia Riserva presents itself in the glass with a deep, intense ruby red color that already hints at its power and density. The nose reveals a complex interplay of aromas of ripe red fruits, especially cherries and mulberries, combined with spicy notes of black pepper, tobacco, and a subtle hint of vanilla, which comes from aging in French oak barrels. A subtle minerality refers to the limestone- and clay-rich soils of the Murgia hills, which shape the grapes and give the wine its unmistakable depth.

On the palate, Puer Apuliae is powerful and structured, yet smooth and elegant. The tannins are present but finely integrated, while the lively acidity preserves the freshness and supports the complex fruitiness. Particularly noteworthy is the Nero di Troia grape variety, one of Apulia's indigenous treasures, which is believed to have originated in ancient times.
