  The name “Scaia” refers to the local tradition and the unique characteristics of the soil in Veneto, which often consists of calcareous rock and is known as “Scaia” - a symbol of the connection between the earth and the vine. The Corvina grape variety used, one of the most important indigenous varieties in the Valpolicella region, shapes this wine with its characteristic properties. Corvina, which means “little crow” in Latin, refers to the deep dark color of the berries, reminiscent of the plumage of these birds. This grape variety is known for its pronounced fruitiness, floral elegance, and delicate spiciness, which are harmoniously expressed in Scaia Rossa. This wine not only preserves the uniqueness of Corvina, but also interprets it in a modern way to celebrate the beauty of the region and its wines in every bottle.

Tenuta Sant'Antonio's Scaia Rossa Corvina is a prime example of the successful combination of tradition and innovation. The grapes come from vineyards in the municipalities of Colognola ai Colli and Mezzane di Sotto, at altitudes between 200 and 300 meters above sea level. The soils are characterized by calcareous subsoil, gravel, and clay components—especially in Mezzane, where sandy loam with balanced skeletal elements dominates. These geological conditions give the wine a special minerality and structure. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks with temperature-controlled fermentation and malolactic fermentation to preserve the freshness and fruitiness of the Corvina grape. The result is a wine with an intense bouquet of cherries, plums, blackberries, and floral notes, which impresses on the palate with a balanced structure and pleasant freshness.
