Kìri · Cannonau di Sardegna DOC 2019

  The Kìri Cannonau di Sardegna from Cantina del Vermentino Monti is a compelling representative of the indigenous Cannonau grape variety - used here in its entirety. Matured on the granite-rich soils of the Monti region in Sardinia and cultivated at altitudes of around 300 to 450 meters, the grapes benefit from cooler nights and sunny days. The vinification follows a clear line: classic maceration, aging in stainless steel tanks to bring out the fruit and origin in the best possible way.

In the glass, this red wine displays a strong ruby red color with violet reflections - a visual indication of its concentrated color and youth. The nose reveals aromas of dark forest berries and sour cherries, accompanied by subtle notes of pepper and licorice, which lend it spice and depth. On the palate, it impresses with juicy fruit, a clear structure, and fine tannins - the result is a harmonious yet characterful wine that pairs well with hearty meat dishes and mature cheeses, but also stands out on its own in the glass. - Gerardo [TS10/20]
