  Cusumano's Alta Mora Feudo di Mezzo Etna Rosso is an impressive single-vineyard interpretation of the Nerello Mascalese grape variety, grown in the renowned Contrada Feudo di Mezzo on the slopes of Mount Etna. The vines, which are over a hundred years old, are rooted in volcanic soil interspersed with lava sand and basalt—an extremely challenging terroir that gives the wine a noticeable origin and mineral depth. Hand harvesting, controlled maceration, and aging in small oak barrels ensure that the fruit remains distinct, yet is characterized by structure and expressiveness.

In the glass, Alta Mora Feudo di Mezzo is dark ruby with garnet red reflections - a visual sign of its concentration and origin. The nose reveals ripe wild and sour cherries, blackcurrants, and a spicy accompaniment of licorice, herbs, and a hint of flint minerality that reflects its volcanic subsoil. On the palate, the wine impresses with dense tannins, elegant fruit, and a noticeable salty minerality on the finish—a wine of great depth and character, ideal with game dishes or aged cheese, but also enjoyable on its own. - Gerardo [TS10/17]
