  Tenute Rubino's single-varietal Torre Testa Susumaniello is a passionate manifesto for the rediscovered indigenous Susumaniello grape variety and embodies the terroir of Salento with remarkable intensity. The grapes come from sandy and clayey soils around Brindisi and are selectively harvested by hand; followed by structured maceration and aging in French barriques before the wine is bottled to completion. The name “Torre Testa” symbolically refers to a “tower of the head” - a symbol of steadfastness and expressiveness that gives the wine a noble self-image.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep garnet red color with violet reflections - a visual indication of its density and concentration. The nose reveals complex aromas of ripe black cherries and plums, accompanied by noble spice notes such as nutmeg, licorice, and cinnamon, as well as a subtle leather note and tobacco tones that reveal its Mediterranean origins. On the palate, Torre Testa impresses with its powerful structure, elegant tannins, and lively freshness, which gives the warmth of Salento a clear edge - the finish is long and impressive.
