Le Colture - the winery of the Ruggeri family - is located in Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene, a small town surrounded by the green hills of the Prosecco area. The sparkling wine cellar has been in existence since the 16th century and has been owned by the Ruggeri family of owners ever since. Today it is run by Renato and Cesare Ruggeri, who see themselves as guardians of the extraordinary family heritage and - like the entire family clan - are passionate about what they do. Renato and Cesare are themselves responsible for the winemaking and place great emphasis on environmentally friendly wine production. All the other family members also have their permanent place in the business:
From the care of the vineyards and the selection of Prosecco grapes to the various stages of vinification and sparkling wine production, as well as marketing and sales. From the outside, the winery looks rather provincial, but the cellar and bottling plant are state of the art. All the Proseccos that come out of Le Colture year after year are the result of constant work and close relationships with the surrounding vineyards and their terroir. The 45 hectares of vineyards are all family-owned - not common in the Prosecco area, where much is leased and bought in. The vineyard ownership allows the production of Prosecco sparkling and semi-sparkling wines of high quality and particular taste characteristics. - Gerardo [TS06/22]
