© www.castellare.it Castellare's Chianti Classico is produced exclusively from two indigenous grape varieties, thus preserving the authenticity of this traditional region. The noble Sangioveto grape (Sangiovese), considered the most famous grape variety in Tuscany, makes up the majority of the blend at 90%. It is complemented by 10% Canaiolo, another historic grape variety that has contributed to the typical character of Chianti for centuries.
With this composition, Castellare deliberately avoids the use of international varieties such as Cabernet or Merlot in order to preserve the authenticity and purity of Chianti Classico.
