  The “Bolonero” Castel del Monte Rosso from Cantine Torrevento reflects the rugged elegance of northern Apulia: made from the indigenous Nero di Troia and Aglianico grape varieties, it grows in the limestone and clay hills surrounding the famous Castel del Monte. The vineyards are located on calcareous-argillaceous alluvial soil at an altitude of around 350 to 400 meters, where the Mediterranean climate meets the cooling mountain air - a combination that gives the wine structure, depth, and a distinctive minerality. Hand harvesting and controlled fermentation followed by aging in stainless steel tanks underline the aim of conveying a clear message of origin.

In the glass, Bolonero displays a bright ruby color with garnet red reflections - a visual promise of intensity. The nose is dominated by ripe wild berries and cherries, accompanied by subtle tobacco and peppery herbal notes that lend the wine a subtle spiciness and earthy-spicy depth. On the palate, this red wine is balanced and smooth: soft tannins carry the fruit, while an elegant freshness and mineral clarity shine through.
