Fattoria Uccelliera di Ezio Bulleri, Tuscany [not in stock]
Barrel-aged Castellaccio is made from 60% Sangiovese, the indigenous grape variety, and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. This combination, now firmly established in central Italy, has earned the wine the nickname 'Supertuscan'.
The color is a fiery, deep red ruby with garnet reflections. The bouquet is broad with ripe fruit, licorice, sandalwood and graphite. Full-bodied palate followed by hints of cigar box and vanilla bean. Of smoothed tannin and persistent finish. - Gerardo [TS12/19]
