Bright ruby color with purple inclusions. As it matures, it becomes garnet red. This powerful Amarone della Valpolicella shows the full range of ripe plums, blackberries, cherry syrup and spices such as cinnamon and cloves on the nose. The palate shows crumbly tannins and a long presence. The lush flavors provide a stylish backdrop to the high alcohol content.
Amarone is the flagship wine of the Veneto and is strongly identified with the local winemaking tradition. Since 1900, select local growers have supplied the grapes for this Amarone. La Corte del Pozzo expresses the Fasoli brothers' attachment to their homeland. - Gerardo [TS05/12]
