Sonntaler comes from the oldest vines of Kurtatsch, which naturally produce low yields of very high quality. The aromatic bouquet is intense and varied, reminiscent of the first fruits of summer: heart cherries, wild strawberries, red currants. The elegant, lean body shows up gripping on the palate. Gschleier is a unique Vernatsch: elegant, full-bodied with fruity tannins, accompanied by an excellent taste. A wine with exceptional aging potential. "From a pergola-trained vineyard of between 80 and 110 years old at an elevation of 450 m above sea level in the Gschleier cru in Girlan. Soils are limestone, clay and gravel. Fermented in stainless steel. Total skin-contact time around 20 days. Aged for nine months in large oak casks and a further six months in bottle. The wine has exceptional ageing potential of at least 10 years and regularly double that. Lustrous but just mid ruby. Subdued nose of minerally stony raspberry fruit. Deep and complex.
