Going with the flow has never been the intention of the Campedelli family, which is behind the Marion winery. This is evident not only in the unusual for the Veneto grape varieties such as Teroldego, but also in the fantasy cuvee 'Calto'. This prestigious wine is nothing other than a very personal interpretation of Amarone, which, however, cannot be marketed as such due to legal regulations. Arzio · Merlot-Cabernet DOC 2019

The Arzio comes from the Arzenhof which was built by Count d'Arsio e Vasio. In the glass, this Cabernet-Merlot blend, reminiscent of a Bordeaux blend, is a brilliant ruby red. The bouquet is complex, with hints of fresh cassis and cranberry, as well as balsamic and earthy notes. Firm and punchy on the palate, with smooth and very fine-grained tannins. A historic wine of the House of Antinori, made since the 2011 vintage with grapes from the Tignanello estate. Coniale · Cabernet Sauvignon IGT 2016

Since the 70s in Tuscany is also extremely successful Cabernet cultivation. Coniale is such a pure Cabernet Sauvignon which was aged for several months in barrique barrels. Full of aromas of elderberry and blackberry. Dense and juicy on the palate, followed by a nice cherry note and spicy finish.

Owner Paolo Panerai follows the ideal of traditional Chianti; international grape varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet are not to be found there.
